Huge congratulations to our Grade 9 grads! 🎓 We recently celebrated a massive milestone -the graduation of our incredible Grade 9 class as they head off to high school! For some of these students, their journey here started all the way back in Kindergarten, and watching them grow into who they are today has been a true honor. Held at a beautifully decorated OBK gymnasium, the night was packed with heartfelt speeches, stunning flowers, and a whole lot of pride. A huge thank you to our amazing parents, teachers, admin, and Board members who have been there cheering on and supporting our students every step of the way. Congratulations to our graduates! We wish you the absolute best as you take on this exciting next chapter in high school. You've got this!

We celebrated our Grade 6 students and all they have accomplished. After working incredibly hard on their PATs and giving their very best, this celebration is truly well deserved. Throughout the year, they have shown dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to pushing themselves to reach their full potential. 🎓✨ Kindergarten Graduation Celebration 2026 ✨🎓 Alhamdulillah, on Friday, June 20, our Calgary Islamic School – OBK Campus kindergarten students celebrated a very special milestone as they graduated from Kindergarten and prepared to begin their Grade 1 journey. The ceremony began with a beautiful Qur’an recitation and translation by our students, followed by welcoming remarks, a special address from our principal, and wonderful class performances that showcased the growth, learning, and Islamic values our students developed throughout the year. Families also enjoyed student presentations, Arabic and Islamic Studies performances, and the presentation of graduation certificates. We are incredibly proud of our graduates and grateful to our dedicated teachers, staff, and families for their partnership and support throughout the year. Together, we have nurtured not only academic growth but also the values of kindness, respect, gratitude, responsibility, and faith. Congratulations to all of our Kindergarten graduates! The “Ahl (people of) Al- Qur’an” Ceremony is a special celebration for memorising the entire Holy Qur’an at Omar Ibn Al-Khattab School, organised on Friday, June 12 by the School Islamic Department. This event represents one of the school’s most honorable and distinguished milestones, where we recognize and celebrate those who have persevered, dedicated their time and effort, and worked diligently in memorizing and learning the Book of Allah SWT. Allah Almighty has honored them with His divine selection, as He says: “Then We caused to inherit the Book those whom We have chosen from among Our servants.” (Qur’an 35:32) Thus, they have been granted the honor of being chosen by Allah, and they have also received the praise of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said: “Indeed, Allah has His own people among mankind.” It was asked, “Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “The people of the Qur’an are the people of Allah and His special ones. For this reason, the name “Ahl (people of) Al-Qur’an” was chosen for this blessed ceremony, following the designation given by our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, honoring their noble status, and celebrating their remarkable achievement in memorizing, understanding, and living by the teachings of the Qur’an. We ask Allah SWT to make the Glorious Qur’an the spring of our hearts and the light of our souls, to bless our sons and daughters among the People of the Qur’an, and to make them among His chosen and beloved servants in this life and the Hereafter. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all worlds. Special recognition for our esteem Quran teachers , students' parents, and to all community leaders who have established and continuously been supporting this program.

We are delighted to share that one of our former Grade 9 CIS OBK students, Hafsa Lallo, has memorized the Holy Quran. The OBK school community extends its heartfelt congratulations on this remarkable achievement. Hafsa is now attending another high school; however, after her graduation from OBK, she remained connected with her Tahfeeth instructors and, under their online guidance, completed her memorization. Our second annual 'The Stage Is Yours' (Speech Competition) event took place this past Tuesday, May 12 at the school gymnasium, and what an inspiring experience it was! Over the past several weeks, students dedicated themselves to researching, writing, refining, and presenting their work through three rounds of competition. This year’s theme, Reflecting on the Names of Allah, challenged students not only to strengthen their public speaking skills, but also to deepen their understanding of their faith and relationship with Allah (SWT).
